Pomm is an open source model layer manager dedicated to the Postgresql database for PHP developments. It proposes a different approach from ORM and allow to leverage the database engine's features and performances.

Even though the philosophy is different, Pomm can be used the same way as classical ORM (Doctrine, Propel etc.). A database inspector allows to generate mapping classes from your database structure to be efficient in a snap.

Pomm integrates relational logic in object oriented developments. Thus, developers can directly use SQL and functionalities offered by the Postgresql engine. Pomm also proposes a high level type conversion from / to PHP.

Free from any abstraction layer, Pomm proposes a direct access to the database, hence ensuring incomparable performances to conventional ORM. Moreover, the use of Postgresql's mechanisms allows to stick to its peak performance level.
